You will ensure, together with the Board that Spectrum operates in an ethical and socially responsible way. This includes maintaining the highest standards of governance as outlined in the AICD guidelines for Not for Profit organisationsKey deliverable of the role will include:Commit to implementing, maintaining and refining a system of good governance that is appropriate for SpectrumPromote and advocate for and on behalf of Spectrum’s interests, including the broader constituents of culturally and linguistically diverse communitiesDemonstrate commitment to the organisation through regular and continual attendance at the Board and committee meetings on which you sitIn partnership with the Board ensure the organisation’s financial control procedures are adequate and that risk management strategies are in placeAbout you - Key Selection Criteria: We are ideally seeking applicants who bring a genuine interest in the Spectrum’s Purpose, goals and future direction as well as:Integrity and demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusionKnowledge and understanding of the migrant / refugee journey. Applicants with a lived experience of the journey will be highly considered, orIndustry specific knowledge and experience related to Spectrum’s Purpose gained from experience in community, leadership, program, stakeholder relations, social policy or advocacy roles, orAspirations and capacity for leadership on the Board of a leading NFP seeking to innovate and extend its impactThe ability to engage and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.Good business instinct and acumenAll offers of appointment are subject to a satisfactory Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) check, National Criminal History Check (NCHC), Statutory Declaration and International Criminal History Check (as required).
